The divisionโs top management and personnel met on Monday for a review of the implementation of the Quality Management System, specifically focusing on maintaining a quality workplace through the Japanese-derived 5S method, with the addition of a sixth S.
Under the guidance of Dr. Bernadette Susvilla, Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Nilita Ragay, OIC-ASDS, led the reorientation as a reminder to all division personnel on how to maintain a safe, conducive, and client-centered work environment.
Dr. Ragay drew inspiration from Indian writer and social activist Mahatma Gandhi in her message about maintaining a quality workplace.
โA customer is the most important visitor on our premises,โ Dr. Nilita quoted Mahatma Gandhi as saying.
Dr. Ragay emphasized the sixth S, which is โSmile,โ along with the original 5S principles: Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.
In addition to Dr. Ragay, other speakers included Ma. Ligaya Panganiban, EPSvr Values; Dr. Elisa Sevilla, EPSvr English; Rosemarie Vailoces, Division Senior High School Coordinator; Junralf Gedorio, PDO I; Messalina โGingingโ Calumpang of the accounting office; and Oliver Catacutan, EPSvr Math.
By June, the 6S method will be fully implemented by the division and cascaded to all public schools in the City of Bais.
Highlights of this program, Dr. Nilita explains, include the practice of the 4:45 afternoon habit, a monthly evaluation of offices every last Friday, and the awarding of the best implementers.
