The Division of Bais City was established in June 21, 2003 as an interim schools division. Being a new born division, its operations were still under the umbrella of the Negros Oriental Division. The Interim Chief was then Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Mario C. Andong, the first Schools Division Superintendent and a bona fide resident of Bais City. Mr. Andong, together with the 9 designated education program supervisors and the rest of the interim division personnel, worked hard for the separation of the interim schools division. They further focused on the establishment of new high schools in the hinterlands.
On July 24, 2012, the City Schools Division of Bais was established and became separated from the mother division of Negros Oriental. However, some of the Project Implementations were still under Negros Oriental Division.
The DepEd, Bais City Division was temporarily housed at the right wing of the Gabaldon Building of Bais City Pilot School along Quezon National Highway. At present, Bais City Division Office is situated at Laurel St. Bais City.

OUR MANDATE
The Department of Education was established through the Education Decree of 1863 as the Superior Commission of Primary Instruction under a Chairman. The Education agency underwent many reorganization efforts in the 20th century in order to better define its purpose vis a vis the changing administrations and charters. The present day Department of Education was eventually mandated through Republic Act 9155, otherwise known as the Governance of Basic Education act of 2001 which establishes the mandate of this agency.
The Department of Education (DepEd) formulates, implements, and coordinates policies, plans, programs and projects in the areas of formal and non-formal basic education. It supervises all elementary and secondary education institutions, including alternative learning systems, both public and private; and provides for the establishment and maintenance of a complete, adequate, and integrated system of basic education relevant to the goals of national development.
